In-School Performances

2021 - A Midsummer Nights Dream

Bloom Creative Productions presents an In-school production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This production has been adapted by Director Laura Vassallo into a 70 minute long performance in 1 act performed by six professional actors playing multiple characters.

Prior to the performance, the actors facilitate a costume parade to introduce each actor and the characters they will be playing. During the performance (if requested prior to booking), there are a number of moments where the actors check in with the student with a “knowledge check” to ensure comprehension and to explain what is happening in plain English if required.

Following the performance the students will have the opportunity to participate in a 10 minute Q&A session covering:

  • Performance

  • A Midsummer Nights Dream

  • William Shakespeare

  • Links to comparison material

  • Acting

  • Directing

  • Theatre craft

Bloom Creative Productions will also provide your school with a worksheet on request to be completed either before or after the performance.

The performance is tailored to ensure each year group can comprehend the themes and links to the syllabus, making this production great for all ages. The worksheet will also be tailored to suit all stages of the curriculum to ensure this performance is relevant from year 7 through to year 12 across both English and Drama.

Bloom Creative Productions prides itself on our ability to link the performance to stimulus material that your students are currently studying. Prior to our visit to your school, our team of professional theatre makers and actors discuss with you the learning outcomes required and ensure that both the question and answer section and introduction will link to what your students are studying, providing a more engaging theatrical and learning experience for your students.
